The BEST of BOHOL, PHILIPPINES: Day Tour, Panglao Island Hopping and More!

When we talk about Bohol, people will first think of those hills that look like perfect mounds of chocolates - the "Chocolate Hills" or those little primates that will perfectly fit in your palm - the "Philippine Tarsier". But these are actually just few of the many attractions and natural wonders that this beautiful, well-blessed tourist destination in Central Philippines has to offer.

Bohol is an island province (with some minor surrounding islands) in Central Visayas Region in the Philippines, with Tagbilaran City as its capital. It is accessible by both air and sea transfer, either to take an hour flight from Manila (Airlines: Cebu Pacific, Philippines Airlines) or take a ferry departing from neighboring cities like Cebu City or Dumaguete City. Accommodation in Bohol won't be a problem as you can choose a variety of it, from budget class to mid-range to high class hotels either in the city center (Tagbilaran) or beach-side vacation (Panglao Island).

Traveler's Couch shares to you photos of what's in for you when you take the Bohol Day Tour and Panglao Island Hopping Activities.

Pandanon Island, Bohol: Escapade with Islands Banca Cruises + Bohol WakeFest 2012

Definitely my summer still on the go as I embrace June with major Beach Destinations. I'm done with Panglao Island so the next stop: Pandanon Island, Bohol, Philippines - June 9, 2012. This island hopping getaway is actually an annual event with my colleagues from college (University of San Carlos - USC Computer Engineering Batch 2011). Actually I had a last minute decision to come along with my friends to this known island destination in the province of Bohol. The island is part of the Municipality of Jetafe, it's around 30-45minutes boat ride from Punta Engano, Mactan Island, Cebu (docking area of boats used for the famous Cebu Island Hopping experience).  We used to have the regular boat provider, Eris Tours but my dear friends decided to experience something new this time - an escapade with Islands Banca Cruise. Maybe they call it an "expensive activity" when you avail their services but trust me, it's really worth the rate. ;) You may refer to below photos taken on our way to Pandanon Island via Islands Banca Cruises (click photos to enlarge).

Prior that day, I was already informed ahead that there was an on-going event in the island, the so-called "Bohol WakeFest 2012", a wake-boarding activity which started at May and will end at June (one of the reasons why I decided to join this activity, haha). I envy those who have tried it (I wanted to try but there were already people who got a reservation for such activity), since the rates are OK: Php600 - Half Day activity and Php900 - Whole Day activity. But still, it was worth the visit there in the island because of its prestine white sand beach, the ambiance was really perfect for a group escapade (not so many tourists by that time). You may refer to below pictures taken at the Pandanon Island, Bohol, Philippines (click photos to enlarge).

It was a fun-filled day indeed at Pandanon Island. We had a short stop at Olanggo Island for some snorkeling and swimming on our way back to Island Banca port at Punta Engano, Mactan Island. You may refer to below photos (click pictures to enlarge).

Everything was definitely amazing as planned. Forget about the rates, the fun and excitement with your close friends will definitely make such experience a memorable one. Special thanks to Islands Banca Cruises for that nice service, job well done. Also to my USC CompE Batch 2011 colleagues for another remarkable escapade, til' next time guyz!

Bohol, Philippines Escapade: Panglao Island

Whenever I hear the place "Bohol", one of the most fascinating places that I can think of with this place is Panglao Island. I heard plenty of positive reviews about the subject, even local celebrities enjoyed its ambiance. It was a perfect plan to have my first night in Bohol spent in this amazing island. From my Antequera Escapade, we ride on a public vehicle on our way to Tagbilaran City. Here's the thing: we ride happily on top of a jeepney. :) What I love with this experience is that the driver did guarantee to the passengers on top that we will arrive safely in Tagbilaran City, speed limit is way to slow that made this trip a safe one. From the city, we ride again for another jeepney that would take us to Dumaluan Beach Resort, Panglao Island. And we arrived at the place around 8:00PM already. Here are my shots on the island the following day (upon sunrise).
